Dinakaran
Dinakaran is a Tamil daily newspaper published by the Sun Group, owners of the Sun TV Network, Sun Direct DTH and the Indian Premier League Cricket Franchisee, Sunrisers Hyderabad. The newspaper was originally launched by a DMK (Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam) party politician, K. P. Kandasamy. In 2005, Kandasamy’s son K. P. K. Kumaran, sold the paper to the Sun Group. Dinakaran today, is published by Kal Publications Private Limited which is part of the Sun Group. Kal Publications is wholly owned by Sun Group’s Chairman, Kalanithi Maran and his wife, Kavery Kalanithi. According to the Indian Readership Survey (IRS) of 2017, the newspaper, with a readership of 12.08 million, is the second most widely read Tamil newspaper, and ranks 14th in newspapers across languages, and is the 6th most read regional newspaper in the country.
