Amar Ujala is a daily Hindi newspaper which was founded in Agra in the year 1948 by Murari Singh Maheshwari and Dori Singh Agarwal. Amar Ujala is the third most read Hindi newspaper as well as the third most read newspaper across langages in India with a readership of 46.09 million according to the Indian Readership Survey (IRS) 2017.The newspaper has 20 editions in 7 states and 1 Union Territory. It covers states like Uttrakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, Punjab, Delhi NCR, Uttar Pradesh and Chandigarh. Nowadays the newspaper is owned by the descendants of its founder, the Maheshwari family.
